American Cabaret

For the past few years, Morgan has been studying American Cabaret and Egyptian Raqs Sharki dance with Henna, Ruby Beh, and Sedona Soulfire.

Studying classic belly dance forms from the early 20th century has sparked a passion for Morgan to investigate the history of this dance form and she has dedicated many years now to studying Classic Arabic music, Arabic language, Orientalism and Colonialism in North Africa, the relationship between belly dance in the West and East, and belly dance in the United States in the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s.

Most recently Morgan has completed studies in Egyptian Folkloric dance with Sahra Saeeda in Journey Through Egypt Part 1 and Part 2 as well as understanding the evolution of belly dance in the United States in the late 60s by completing Jamila Salimpour Level 1 Certification with Suhaila Salimpour and belly dance fundamentals with Suhaila Salimpour in Salimpour Format Level 1.
